QLD Sustainability Declaration

In November 2009, the Queensland State Government passed legislation that now requires all sellers of residential property in Queensland to complete and make available a Sustainability Declaration for potential buyers to inspect.

A sustainability declaration is a compulsory checklist that must be completed by the seller when selling a house, townhouse (class 1a buildings) or unit (class 2 building) from 1 January 2010. This declaration must be made available to potential buyers to inspect and will summarise the energy, water, safety and access features of a property.

NettZero provides a Home Sustainability Assessment service directly to property owners and through Real Estate Agencies. We can provide a written Report that details what we sited, inspected and measured during the assessment. It provides guidance to the Owner on whether they should “tick the box” or not for each question on the Sustainability Declaration. We are usually able to provide yes/no answers for the vast majority of the questions and can usually provide the reports in 2-3 working days.

If a full report is not required and you are simply after compliance, then we have streamlined service where we simply check and complete the form on behalf of the Property Owner. The Property Owner is still required to sign the Home Sustainability Declaration Form. We can usually provide this service on a 1-2 day turn around time.

By having a Professional Home Sustainability Assessment completed, the owner will be able to provide the maximum amount of accurate information on the Declaration and present their property at its best.
